Ningen

"In the 1990s, in the icy waters of Antarctica, Japanese navigators spotted gigantic and humanoid life forms named "Ningen", meaning "Human" in Japanese.
Rumors began to circulate in Japan, and soon the imagination of the world, with reports of other researchers and navigators who spotted the giant Antarctic monster.
Often seen at night, the creature is described with a humanoid body and a whale's tail, and long, slender arms, with its all-white body standing out only from its black eyes and mouth, sometimes rising to the surface.
There are two theories abouy why these abyssal monsters began to be sighted only since 1990. One of them explains that creatures live in the polar ice caps, and that their melting has increased their sightings.
Another theory is that Ningen is an extraterrestrial species that came to Earth from that time on, living in Antarctica precisely because of its adaptation to conditions similar to those of our frozen continent."
