Drop Bear

The Drop Bear legend tells about a large predatory, arboreal marsupial with huge tusks and claws, related to koala. They inhabit dense forests with huge trees, never near roads or human territory, they live in the top of these trees and attack people and other prey falling from the trees on them.
The creature is described as a cruel and strong animal, with powerful forearms to climb trees and grab its prey.
Legends tell that there are certain repellents against Drop Bear, these include putting forks in the hair, or else spreading Vegemite (iconic Australian food paste) or toothpaste behind the ears.
